Luka Modric and Croatia salvaged a point in a 2-2 draw with Slovakia in Osijek on Monday. The 36-year-old captain came through big to pull his national squad level late in the match.
Slovakia would draw first blood as Slavia Prague forward Ivan Schranz opened the scoring with a goal in the 20th minute. Hoffenheim forward Andrej Kramaric answered five minutes later with an equalizing goal of his own.
Prague winger Lukas Haraslin scored right before the end of the first half to give the Slovaks a 2-1 lead. It would take all the way until the 70th minute before Modric would draw the score level off a wonderful set piece.
