Lagos Police Denies Detaining Burna Boy
The Lagos State Police Command has denied the news spreading like wildfire claiming that the only Nigerian musician nominated for the Grammy Awards last year; in person of Burna Boy, was captured by uniformed on Sunday, the 25th day of May, 2020.
Burna boy was purportedly said to have been detained sequel to complaints filed by landlords in his estate. It was also rumored he had been charged on counts of incomplete payment of the land atop which his building was built which was priced at #100 million.
However, as published by NetNG, the Lagos State Police Command’s Public Relations Officer; DSP Bala Elkana affirmed that Burna Boy was never detained . In furtherance, he explained that no reports was filed against Burna Boy nor did he owe any payment. In his verdict, he said,
“They just reused an old story. There was something that happened a quite a while prior and it was settled at that point. It is anything but an ongoing occasion. Yet we don’t have him in our care. He wasn’t detained yesterday, we don’t have grumblings against him from yesterday.
We don’t have such a case as detailed online at this point. The reports online acclaim that he was detained by men from our division but I say to you, that it’s all false. You have my words.”
